Easter 6

Walking through cities, towns or gardens in the heat of the day, fountains have the power to cool, soothe and heal.  Indeed, one might say that there is nothing more alive than a fountain spouting water; and nothing more dead than one whose water has ceased to flow.

Water is consistently used throughout the old and new testaments as a metaphor for God’s inexhaustible and profligate love for us.  We can skirt around it, dip our fingers, or dive straight in.  The invitation is there for us – it only needs us to respond.
