 The birth of Christ to the Virgin Mary is at the heart of the Christian mystery. The Icon of the Nativity portrays the essential conditions for this event to be experienced as an inner reality. This illustrated talk will trace the evolution of the Nativity Icon over many centuries, and offer reflections on the enduring significance of the event that the icon depicts.
Jeremy Naydler holds a PhD in Theology and Religious Studies, and has a special interest in the symbolism and spiritual meaning of the Nativity Icon.
